Prayer to become a praying parent

Dear Lord,

I submit myself to You. I desire to do Your will for my life. Thank You for giving me this burden to be a prayer warrior. I realize parenting a child in the way You would have me to is beyond my human abilities. I need Your help. I want to partner with You and partake of Your gifts of wisdom, discernment, revelation, and guidance. I also need Your strength and patience, along with a generous portion of Your love flowing through me. Teach me how to love the way You love. I do not want to provoke my children to wrath (Ephesians 6:4) but desire to bring them up in the training and admonition of You. Proverbs 20:7 says the righteous man walks in his integrity; his children are blessed after him. Lord, I know I can only be righteous through You. Where I need to be healed, delivered, changed, matured, or made whole, I invite You to do that in me. Help me to walk in righteousness and integrity before You. Teach me Your ways, enable me to obey Your commandments and do only what is pleasing in Your sight. May the beauty of Your Spirit be so evident in me that I will be a godly role model. Give me the communication, teaching, and nurturing skills that I must have. Make me the parent You want me to be and teach me how to pray and truly intercede for the lives of [name child(ren)]. Lord, You said in Your Word, "Whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive." (Matthew 21:22). In Jesus' name I ask that You will increase my faith to believe for all the things You've put on my heart to pray for concerning [name child(ren)]. Amen.

Prayer to release yourself from the curse of lust and perversion

"Holy Spirit, fill me with the power to set myself free from all lust and perversion. I will no longer live under the curse of a perverse heart, and I commit to You today to keep my lips free from perversion and my eyes looking straight at You. Let all my ways be established in righteousness, and continue giving me the strength to remove my feet from all evil."

Prayer for protection against harm

Dear Lord,

You know our situation. You already know what is going on in our bodies before we find out. Lord we praise You for giving us the life we have had on this earth so far. We want your will to be done in our lives and we are willing to accept whatever You have in your plan for [name spouse] and me. But Lord, if it is in Your will that we be protected from harm, I ask you put a hedge of protection around [spouse] and me. Protect our spirit, body, mind, and emotions from any kind of evil or harm. I pray specifically for protection from accidents, disease, injury, or any other physical, mental, or emotional abuse. I pray that [spouse] and I will make our refuge "in the shadow of Your wings" until "these calamities have passed by" (Psalms 57:1). Hide us from any kind of evil influences that would come against us. Keep [spouse] and me safe from any hidden dangers and let no weapon formed against us prosper.

Thank You, Lord, for Your many promises of protection. Help us to walk in Your ways and in obedience to Your will so that neither of us would come out from the umbrella of that protection. Keep us safe in all we do wherever we go. Lord we thank You we can lie down and sleep in peace; for You alone make us dwell in safety (Psalms 4:8). We thank You and praise You.

In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

Prayer to release child(ren) to God

Dear Lord,

We give [name child(ren)] into Your hands. We are convinced that You alone know what is best for [him/her, them]. You alone know what [s/he, they] need. In Matthew 7:11 You say that even we, being evil, know how to give good gifts to our children. Even more, You, the Father in Heaven, who is perfect and righteous, and loving, will give much more to those who ask. So we release our child(ren), [name child(ren)], into Your care and protection. We commit to praying for everything concerning [him/her, them] that we can think of or that You put upon our hearts. Teach us how to pray and guide us in what to pray about.

Thank You that we can partner together with You in raising them and that we don't have to do it alone. We are grateful that we don't have to rely on the world's ever-changing methods for child rearing, but we can have clear directions from Your Word and wisdom as we pray to You for answers.

Thank You, Lord, for the precious gifts of [name child(ren)]. Help us to raise them. Show us places where we continue to hang on to them and enable us to release them to Your protection, guidance, and counsel. Help us not to live in fear of possible dangers, but in the joy and peace of knowing that You are in control. We rely on You for everything, and this day and all the others, we trust our child(ren) to You and release them into Your hands.

In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

Prayer for husband to be COURAGEOUS

Dear Lord,

I pray that [name husband] is courageous in You. I pray he is able to withstand the flaming arrows of the evil one and to take a firm stand for You in this world. I pray according to Joshua 1:7-9 that [name husband] be strong and very courageous. That he be careful to obey all the law that Your servant Moses gave and that he not turn from it to the right or to the left, so he can be successful wherever he goes. I pray that [name husband] keep the Book of the Law always on his lips; meditating on it day and night, so that he is careful to do everything written in it. Then he will be prosperous and successful. Have You not commanded him? Be strong and very courageous. I pray he not be afraid or discouraged, for You, O Lord our God will be with him wherever he goes.

In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

Joshua 1:7-9

New International Version (NIV)
“Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
