Praying The Lord's Prayer daily

Dear Lord,

Thank You for teaching us in Matthew 6:9-15 how we should pray. I want to wake up with Your praises on my tongue. I desire to pray to the wonderful Father every morning and I will use Your example as the best way to start. May this prayer be written in my heart and remembered by my mind all the days of my life.

“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
10 your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from the evil one.’

14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins."

In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

Prayer for clear skies between the Lord and me

Dear Lord,

I pray today, right now, for clear skies between us. Lord, I know that sin disqualifies the suppliant and a blameless heart gives assurance that You hear my prayers. Lord, take care of any sin that may be blocking our fellowship. Bring it to light so that I may repent and go on in You today. [Pause for reflection and revelation.] I pray according to Psalm 66:16-20 that I want all who would come and listen, those who fear God, to hear what You have done for me. When I cried out to You, Your praise was on my tongue. If I had cherished sin in my heart, You would not have listened to me. But You have surely listened and heard my voice in prayer. Praise be to You, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld Your love from me."

Lord, thank You for helping me have clear skies between us. Light my way, O Lord. Continue to direct my path. Lord, I do not cherish sin and I want to obliterate it from my life. Help me to let go of anything and everything that puts a veil between us. I love You, Lord.

In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

Prayer to destroy an inheritance of family bondage of sin

Dear Lord,

You say in Proverbs 13:22 that a good man leaves an inheritance to his children's children. I pray that the inheritance I leave to my children will be the rewards of a godly life and clean heart before You. To make sure this happens, I ask that wherever there is a sinful trait in me that I have acquired from my family, deliver me from it now in the name of Jesus. I confess my sins to You. I ask for forgiveness and restoration, knowing that Your Word says in 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

I know that cleansing from sin through confession lessens the possibility of passing that habit of sin to my child. Jesus said in Luke 10:19, "I give you the authority... over all the powers of the enemy." If there is any work of the enemy in my past that seeks to encroach upon the life of my child(ren), [name child(ren)], I break it now by the power and authority given me in Jesus Christ. I pray specifically about [list any and all sins that you can think of that have been committed by you and your ancestors]. Whatever is not Your will for our lives, I reject as sin.

Thank You, Jesus, that You came to set us free from the past. We refuse to live bound by it. Thank You, Father, that You have "qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light" according to Colossians 1:12. I pray that [name child(ren)] will not inherit any sin trait from their earthly family, but will "inherit the kingdom prepared for them from the foundation of the world" which Your Word says in Matthew 25:34. Thank You, Jesus, that in You the old has passed away and all things are new.

In Jesus' precious name I pray, Amen.

Prayer for hedging our marriage

Dear Lord,

I pray according to Hosea 2:7 that you block [name husband]'s and my path with thornbushes; wall us in so that we cannot find a way to inappropriate relationships, circumstances, or sexual activities. According to Hosea 2:14-15 I pray that [name husband] is lured to me and I to him. May You speak tenderly to our hearts and show us that our vineyard is with each other. I pray verses 19-20 that You betroth us to Yourself and thus to each other forever. Betroth us in righteousness and justice, in love and compassion, and in faithfulness. May [name husband] and I acknowledge You, O Lord, for this union and for saving and protecting it.

In Jesus' precious name I pray, Amen

Prayer for change in parenting - a mom's desperate plea

Dear Lord,

I come to You right now as an incapable parent. I am failing each and every day to be the mom I desire to be in You. I am not asking to be perfect, but I am asking to be the mom that You intended me to be. Lord, restore my brokenness. I want to be whole and healthy for my kids. I want to show up for my kids every day. I want to die to myself and battle the anger, frustration, rashness, neglectful attitude, sarcasm, carelessness, and improper discipline that comes so easily when times are rough.

I want to put on the full armor of God. I pray according to Ephesians 10-18 which says "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore [I want to] put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, [I] may be able to stand [my] ground, and after [I] have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around [my] waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with [my] feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which [I] can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people."

Lord, I pray You teach me how to do this. I want to be ready to fight for You every day. I want to fight for my marriage and for my kids. I want to be a prayer warrior. I want to read Your Word. I want to break the bonds of inheritance. I want Your will to be done in my life, no matter what the cost. Take me, break me, own me, make me wholly thine.

In Jesus' precious name I pray, Amen.

Prayer to gain freedom in hard times

Dear Lord,

Don't take away my circumstances if that's going to keep me from becoming all that You want me to be. Lord, lead me in Your ways! I've now tasted what You have for me, and what Your abilities and strengths can do in my life, in spite of my terrible weaknesses. I greatly desire You and Your ways above every other thing, even if it means going through my present hardships.

Whatever it comes to, I have learned through your Word to see Your strength, and I trust that You can lead me through the hardest and darkest of times.

In Jesus' name I pray, Amen

Supporting scriptures:

Psalm 23

A psalm of David.
1 The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,[a]
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.

John 8:12
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Prayer to be a patient and loving mom

Dear Lord,

I repent for my impatience and provoking regarding the kids. You know my need right now. Lord, I need more of You. I need more of Your perfect patience and love. Thank You for my children. This is the area I need the most patience in - parenting. Lord, thank You for the following verses on patience that I'd like to memorize and use in this great time of need. Lord, write these words into my heart. Lord, change me from the inside out. Thank You for Your patience and love and that I can receive from You, into my spirit, what I need to change my ways and meet the needs of my children in a righteous way.

In Jesus' precious name I pray, Amen.

1 Corinthians 13:4
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves. Love never fails.

Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

Colossians 3:12-14
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patienceBear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Prayer to submit and follow [my husband]

Dear Lord,

Today I want to remember to choose to be a submissive wife, the wife You called me to be. You say in Your Word in 1 Peter 3:1 "Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives." Lord, I repent for my lack of submission through the years. Lord, I want to turn the tides and be the follower in this relationship. I want our marriage to be a reflection of Your relationship with the church. You are the head of the church and [name husband] is the head of this family. O Lord, that is may be a beautiful marriage and not dishonor Your word. Lord, you called me to submit. Remind me in the heat of the decision. Lord, that I would choose to honor and respect [name husband] and his decisions. That I would respond positively to [name husband]'s words and actions. That I would hand over to You the responsibility of deciding whether or not those actions are right or not. Lord, that I would choose to bend my will so that I can follow what [name husband] thinks is best. Thank you, Lord, for giving me this instruction, this privilege of choice, this high calling. May these words be written on my heart. "Wives submit to your own husbands." Ephesians 5:22

In Jesus' precious name I pray, Amen.

Prayer of commitment to be [name husband]'s helper

Dear Lord,

Today I commit to being [name husband]'s helper. Lord, I know so many times and for so long I did not try to do this, I did not know to do this, and I did the opposite. I repent for that, Lord, and I want to turn the tides. I pray according to Proverbs 12:4 and declare I want to be a wife of noble character so I can be [name husband]'s crown. I would never want to be disgraceful to him or to You. I realize that You made me specifically to be my husband's helper. Lord, I want to share his responsibilities, respond to his nature with understanding and love, and to wholeheartedly cooperate with him in Your plan for our life together. Your will be done in my life, in his life, and our life together. I love him and thank You for him. I love You, Lord.

In Jesus' precious name I pray, Amen.
